Sleeping Beauty, Delivers Peace of Mind with Low-Power, Geolocation Technology

Sleeping Beauty, a Berlin-based innovator, developed a compact security tracker that uses GSM and GPS geolocation to monitor valuable possessions. The challenge was to move quickly from concept to market with a manufacturable plastic enclosure, and they turned to Protolabs for CNC machining support through the Cool Idea Award.

Protolabs helped Sleeping Beauty prototype and validate the enclosure with CNC machined parts and design-for-manufacturability feedback, then supported a smooth transition to low-volume rapid injection molding for production. The result was a faster path to market and a device capable of sleeping on a single battery for up to one year, with launch planned in Europe by December 2016.
