Sisyphus uses service grant to meet rising demand

Sisyphus, the creator of a kinetic art table inspired by Zen gardens, saw demand surge after a successful Kickstarter campaign raised nearly $2 million and generated more than 1,000 orders. As the company looked to move from prototype to production, it turned to Protolabs for manufacturing support, including help through the Cool Idea Award service grant.

Protolabs helped Sisyphus scale production by injection molding mechanical components that had originally been planned as machined and laser-cut plastics. With Protolabs’ support, Sisyphus reduced design time and cost, moved into a larger facility, and planned to produce 200–300 tables per month while fulfilling more than 1,500 orders and opening pre-orders for future demand.
