Saving lives at sea with support from Protolabs' Multi Jet Fusion and Selective Laser Sintering services

General Drones, a Valencia-based company that designs and builds rescue drones, needed to create the Auxdron LFG with lightweight, precise, multi-geometry parts under extremely short lead times and at a competitive price. To meet the demands of maritime rescue teams, it turned to Protolabs and its 3D printing services, specifically Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).

Protolabs produced the required components quickly using MJF and SLS, delivering high-density, low-porosity, durable, flexible, and water-resistant parts in time for the project. The result was the Auxdron LFG, which has been deployed since 2017 for rescue operations at beaches in Puerto de Sagunto, Almenara, Almardà, Benicàssim, Castellón, and Peñíscola, and can launch within six seconds to help save lives.
