Salta Lure World-leading fishing lure innovator brings Protolabs on board for vital product development

Salta Lure, a Swedish start-up and world-leading fishing lure innovator, faced the challenge of developing two high-performance lures—the Hybrid-Head skirted trolling lure and the FRED lure—that would revolutionize offshore fishing. To overcome the obstacle of rapid prototyping for these complex designs, the company partnered with Protolabs for its digital manufacturing services.

Protolabs provided a solution by utilizing its direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) service to 3D print an aluminum balance weight for the Hybrid-Head lure and its stereolithography (SL) service to create a nylon PA12 white prototype of the FRED lure. This allowed for swift testing and validation of the lures' performance and geometry. The results enabled Salta Lure to quickly confirm designs and move toward production, with Georgios Toris citing Protolabs' fast delivery, competitive prices, and expert guidance as key to their successful development process.
