Piavita uses Protolabs for stunning breakthrough in veterinary medicine

Piavita, a Swiss veterinary science startup, needed a way to collect reliable long-term vital data from horses without stressing the animals. To turn its Piavita Vet System into a manufacturable product, the company worked with Protolabs for 3D printing, overmoulding, and injection-moulded plastic housings.

Protolabs helped Piavita move from prototypes to production by producing rugged, waterproof housings in ABS and biocompatible TPSiV® silicone, along with housings for the transfer station and belt holder. Protolabs delivered initial quotes within a day and the first 100 housings in 15 working days, enabling Piavita to launch quickly, scale to a 300-unit batch, and operate with greater flexibility and lower fixed costs.
