Origin Product Design, a Cambridgeshire-based consultancy founded in 1995, designs technology-based products that combine mechanics, electronics, industrial design, and ergonomics. The team needed a rapid manufacturing partner that could deliver high-quality parts quickly, especially for challenging projects in medical, telecommunications, industrial, marine, aviation, and consumer sectors. They turned to Protolabs for rapid injection moulding and other prototyping/manufacturing services.

Protolabs became a technical partner to Origin Product Design, helping solve difficult tooling and prototyping problems, including a suite of 10 tools for a UK medical firm and an innovative pharmaceutical product requiring a 0.2 mm milling cutter.
