Mindsett Protolabs helps energy saving device increase sustainability

Mindsett, part of the Cloudfm Group, needed to bring its PRISM™ asset monitoring device to market quickly while improving the product’s sustainability credentials. The team wanted a UK-based manufacturing partner that could help them injection mould the device’s five casing parts within a very tight deadline, while also supporting design-for-plastics expertise and environmentally responsible production.

Protolabs responded with its quoting platform, Consultative Design Service (CDS), and rapid plastic injection moulding service to refine the CAD, advise on material selection and flammability, resolve lens and logo printing issues, and manufacture 500 each of the five parts. Protolabs helped Mindsett move production from an overseas supply chain to the UK, cut lead time to just eight weeks from initial contact to delivery, and reduce the product’s environmental impact through more efficient material use and lower transport and energy requirements.
