Japet Medical Devices, a French medical robotics start-up, needed to quickly industrialize Atlas, its first functional rehabilitation exoskeleton for relieving lumbar pain. To meet a launch deadline of less than a month, the company turned to Protolabs for injection moulding support parts and encapsulation housings made to mass-production tolerances.

Protolabs used its ProtoQuote software and DFM expertise to help refine the parts, eliminate potential defects, and complete the tooling without revisions. In just 2 weeks, Protolabs manufactured 10 moulds and delivered injected polyamide and silicone parts at a lower cost than other suppliers, with the company also selected to produce the first series.
