2045Tech, a start-up based in Padova, Italy, needed help turning its Floome breathalyser from a proof of concept into a polished, publicly presentable product and then into a production-ready device. To do this, the company worked with Protolabs using rapid injection moulding, along with support on materials and part mechanics.

Protolabs helped 2045Tech manufacture the original Floome and later the next-generation Floome IT cases, enabling the team to move quickly from prototype to market. The support from Protolabs’ Cool Idea Award and production service grant covered 1,000 parts across seven components and helped 2045Tech gain at least four months on its standard time to market, with the product later scaling to more than 20,000 active users in over 40 countries.
