Case Study: Jade Groupe achieves faster production, reduced lead times and cost savings with Proto3000

A Proto3000 Case Study

Preview of the Jade Groupe Case Study

Jade Groupe utilizes Desktop Metal binder jetting to produce fast manufacturing solutions

Jade Groupe, a luxury fashion‑accessory manufacturer in Agueda, Portugal that supplies LVMH, faced long lead times and an overloaded CNC shop for essential jigs, fixtures and tooling that slowed production. To solve this, Jade Groupe partnered with vendor Proto3000 to deploy Desktop Metal Studio and Shop Systems for metal 3D printing (binder‑jetting), enabling rapid prototyping and a pathway to digital, on‑demand production.

Proto3000’s deployment of Desktop Metal systems let Jade Groupe print functional parts in 17‑4 stainless steel, producing lighter, DfAM fixtures (fixture weight cut from 18.58 g to 12.18 g, a 42% saving), building 3,100 parts in one run, halving lead time for sacrificial polishing tools, and achieving ~20% cost savings versus CNC. The faster workflow also enabled H900 heat treatment that doubled tool life, reduced scrap, and standardized processes—streamlining production and improving efficiency.
