Iterate on Ideas and Bring Products to Market Faster with MakerBot

Canary, a New York City–based home security startup that scaled rapidly from a successful Indiegogo campaign, needed a comprehensive rapid‑prototyping capability to iterate designs and bring products like the Canary Flex to market faster. To address this, they adopted Proto3000’s connected 3D‑printing solutions — including Replicator+ and Replicator Mini+ desktop printers, Tough PLA filament, and the Print and Mobile software — so engineering and design teams could prototype at their desks and integrate printing directly into their workflow.

Proto3000’s deployment of cloud‑enabled, higher‑quality printers and materials sped iteration (saving days and even minutes in the design loop), improved print reliability and precision, and enabled in‑house fixtures and functional testing (including durability tests that ran for tens of thousands of cycles) without expensive external services. As a result, Canary reduced prototyping costs, accelerated design decisions, improved fit/function testing, and brought accessories and products to market more quickly using Proto3000’s tools.
