Industrial Design Firm Accelerates Innovation with the MakerBot Method

Pensa, a New York–based industrial design and invention consulting firm, needed to speed up ideation and product development while reducing the time and operating costs tied to traditional industrial 3D printing. To address those challenges they worked with Proto3000 to integrate the MakerBot METHOD Performance desktop 3D printer into their workflow.

Proto3000’s deployment of the MakerBot METHOD allowed Pensa to produce fixtures, end‑use parts, form and volume studies, and functional tests earlier and more often, delivering steep reductions in production time and operating costs compared with their prior industrial equipment. The change accelerated design iteration cycles and decision‑making, with dimensional accuracy “as good or better” than previous industrial FDM machines, enabling quicker validation of functionality, ergonomics, and mechanics.
