How using the Stratasys F770 Large-Format 3D Printer Accelerates Sub-Zero’s Product Development

Sub-Zero Group, a maker of customized luxury refrigeration (brands Sub‑Zero, Wolf and Cove), faced delays, higher costs and extra post‑processing from outsourcing large prototype and tooling parts. To accelerate product development and retain more work in‑house, Sub‑Zero worked with Proto3000 to deploy large‑format 3D printing capabilities using the Stratasys F770 FDM® printer.

Proto3000 supplied and supported the Stratasys F770, enabling Sub‑Zero’s lab to print huge parts (over 13 cu ft build volume; up to 46‑inch/39×24×24 in parts) reliably and unattended. The change cut outsourcing and post‑processing, produced estimated 30–40% cost savings by keeping work in‑house, shortened development cycles for new builds every six weeks, and freed technicians to perform other tasks — demonstrating Proto3000’s role in delivering faster, lower‑cost prototyping.
