Custom 3D Printed Parts Increases Profit For Pack Line Ltd

Pack Line Ltd, a world-leading packing-machine manufacturer based in Holon, Israel, faced high cost and long lead times for low-volume, highly customized replacement parts that disrupted customers’ production lines. Working with Proto3000, Pack Line adopted Stratasys FDM additive manufacturing (Fortus 450mc) and ULTEM™ 1010 material to address these challenges and enable on-demand production of complex components.

Proto3000’s solution moved parts production in‑house to 3D printing, cutting unit cost from about $100 (with required minimums) to roughly $80 with no minimum order and delivering up to 55% cost savings on some orders. Build time fell from about a week to around two hours, design freedom enabled non‑metal hoppers and more functional geometries, and ULTEM 1010 printed pushers proved durable in field tests (now used in production). The result for Pack Line Ltd was faster delivery, reduced downtime, and lower part costs thanks to Proto3000’s additive manufacturing solution.
