Case Study: Brooks Running achieves 50% faster design validation with Proto3000 3D printing

A Proto3000 Case Study

Preview of the Brooks Running Case Study

Brooks Running - Customer Case Study

Brooks Running was struggling with prototype bottlenecks: seasonal design windows produce many files at once and relying on external service bureaus led to waiting, missed deadlines and high rush fees. To bring prototyping in-house, Brooks partnered with Proto3000 and deployed a Connex3 3D printer to accelerate their outsole and midsole iteration process.

Proto3000’s Connex3 lets Brooks print four to five outsole/midsole prototypes at once with about an eight-hour turnaround, so files, prototypes and reviews can be completed within roughly a 10-hour span. The result: design validation time was cut in half, project delays were drastically reduced, vendor queue and rush fees were avoided, and Brooks saved approximately $500–$800 per shoe design.
