Protiviti’s Governance Portal helps media giant consolidate risk and audit activities

Global Leader in Media and Entertainment, a company with roughly 34,000 employees, 750 auditable entities, 50 standard risk objectives, 16 standard processes and 1,100 IT systems, faced a fragmented internal audit environment built on home‑grown tools and spreadsheets. Seeking a centrally configurable solution that would integrate risk assessment with audit planning, the company selected Protiviti’s Governance Portal to replace its hodgepodge of tools and standardize the audit process.

Protiviti implemented the Governance Portal through two pilots and customized configuration, building a standardized taxonomy of risks and processes, automating data collection and calculations, and creating saved searches and reporting templates. As a result, Protiviti helped the client consolidate all risk and audit data into a single system—enabling near‑instant retrieval of live data, richer cross‑business reporting (pivot tables, charts, trend analysis) and a simplified auditor experience—and positioned the company to extend the Portal to FCPA/anti‑corruption programs, action plan tracking and all future internal audits.
