Leading U.S. Agriculture Co-Ops, a rapidly growing subsidiary undergoing a multiyear ERP implementation, faced critical data and operational challenges including EDI errors, payment penalties, high inventory levels and disgruntled vendors. Protiviti was engaged to lead a Master Data Management (MDM) effort and provide staff augmentation to stabilize day-to-day EDI error processing and document the company’s data management processes.

Protiviti executed a three‑phase approach—current state assessment, onboarding/training (with Robert Half resources) and day‑to‑day operations plus master data documentation (item and vendor masters). The engagement reduced processing errors and system downtime, shortened new‑employee training time, remediated ~300 outstanding invoices (~$1M), identified nine missing invoices (~$1M), and delivered B2B partner invoice‑error reductions of 83% and 92%, while uncovering automation opportunities.
