Ocean Conservancy, a nonprofit that educates and empowers citizens to protect the ocean, needed to improve communication and collaboration across its nationwide offices. Their existing SharePoint 2007 intranet was underutilized and staff relied on shared drives and email for file storage and collaboration, so Ocean Conservancy engaged Protiviti to modernize their intranet and address this information-sharing gap.

Protiviti upgraded Ocean Conservancy’s site to a user‑centric SharePoint 2010 “FINtranet,” redesigning the information architecture and training content authors through a phased launch. The new FINtranet delivered a dramatic increase in user adoption, positive staff feedback, and better cross‑office collaboration via announcements, calendars and meeting workspaces — outcomes driven by Protiviti’s creative and user experience teams.
