Komatsu Europe digitises leave for 310 employees with Protime

Komatsu Europe, a major manufacturer and distributor of construction equipment, faced challenges managing time and leave for its diverse workforce at its Vilvoorde headquarters. Their processes relied on handwritten leave cards and manual corrections, which were inefficient and time-consuming for HR. A significant hurdle was that many warehouse employees lacked company email or computers, making a digital solution difficult. They turned to Protime for a solution to streamline these processes.

Protime implemented its myProtime app and ProTeam software, allowing all employees to request leave digitally and enabling foremen to manage shift planning. Warehouse staff clocked in using physical time clocks linked to Protime. The solution integrated directly with payroll provider SD Worx. This resulted in a fully digitized process, eliminating paper forms and saving HR considerable time. Notably, warehouse workers adopted the system immediately without formal training.
