Albertsons Leverages the Denodo & Protegrity Platforms for Flexible, Intelligent Data Security

Albertsons, the North American grocery retailer, was in the middle of a digital transformation and migration of critical data to Microsoft Azure Cloud. To support secure customer marketing and advanced analytics while protecting sensitive PII/PHI/PCI data, Albertsons turned to Protegrity, using Protegrity’s data security capabilities alongside Denodo.

Protegrity helped Albertsons tokenize sensitive data as early as possible and detokenize it only for authorized users, while Denodo provided virtualized, role-based access controls through its platform and SQL execution layer. The combined solution let Albertsons run analytics and marketing on protected data in Azure and Snowflake, improving privacy protection, reducing access to restricted data, and accelerating its secure cloud transformation.
