Protecht Engaged to Develop New Risk Management Technology for the Nrl

The National Rugby League engaged Protecht to develop a new risk management technology to help protect and grow rugby league across its 16-team competitions and representative programs. Facing a complex, game‑wide risk profile—from grassroots growth to elite competitions—the NRL needed a system that could formalise assessments, link controls and inform executive decision‑making; Protecht was chosen to provide that capability using its Protecht.ERM solution (branded SHIELD inside the NRL).

Protecht implemented Protecht.ERM/SHIELD to accommodate the NRL’s existing risk methodology while linking to a central risk and control library, enabling cross‑department assessments, consolidated dashboards and comprehensive reporting. As a result, the NRL can now quantify risk across the full spectrum of the game, track progress and the impact of controls, and better identify, assess and mitigate strategic and operational risks—delivering a clearer net risk position for executives.
