Merck, a global leader in pharmaceuticals, chemicals and life sciences, faced a complex procures-to-pay challenge: maintaining and uploading large numbers of customer‑specific catalog items, supporting SAP punch‑out, eliminating manual paper transactions, and gaining ERP integration and visibility across its P2P process. To address these issues Merck engaged Prospecta and implemented Prospecta’s ConnektBizOnline (CBO) solution.
Prospecta deployed CBO modules including Catalogue Management and OCI punch‑out to automate the full order management cycle — from receiving POs to sending PO acknowledgements and raising invoices — and to integrate in real time with SAP. The implementation enabled Merck to maintain more than 100,000 catalog items across customers, simplify customer shopping with SAP punch‑out, shorten the order‑to‑cash cycle, remove delays and improve transparency and compliance across procurement.
