Master Data Cleansing and Governance at a Leading FMEG Manufacturing Company

Leading Fast Moving Electrical Goods Manufacturer, a major FMEG producer with 12 manufacturing locations, faced exploding master-data volume and an SAP environment that could not meet its MDM needs. Multiple plants submitted material master changes via Excel into a non-collaborative process, creating redundancies, inconsistent historical uploads, missing approvals and validations, incorrect material group assignments, no BOM change tracking, and risks to APO-based production planning. Prospecta implemented a single Master Data Management (MDM) system and governance framework—introducing workflow approvals, external material codification with running serials, decentralized user input via MDO templates, role-based fields/access, BOM change tracking with logs, and real-time integration with SAP. As a result, Prospecta eliminated data duplication and multiple entry, enabled paperless end-to-end SAP integration, improved data quality for APO planning, streamlined mass uploads and changes, and established auditable approval trails and better cross-organizational communication.
