Beach Energy seamlessly migrates from Oracle to SAP ECC

Beach Energy, a leading oil & gas exploration and production company, needed to migrate master and transactional data from the acquired Lattice Energy’s Oracle E-Business Suite into its existing SAP ECC environment quickly and reliably. Beach engaged Prospecta, using its MDO (Master Data Online) capability together with SAP Data Services, to address risks from differing ERP systems, potential duplicate masters, and the need for industry-aware migration practices.

Prospecta extracted data from Oracle, staged and transformed it in MDO to SAP ECC structures and nomenclature (applying business transformation rules), and loaded it into SAP using data load files; reconciliation and data quality reports were run in MDO to validate accuracy. The migration covered Supply Chain Management (Material and Vendor Masters, Purchasing Info Records, Contracts, POs, stock balances), Plant Maintenance (functional locations, BOMs, task lists, work orders, notifications, maintenance plans and related items) and Asset Master data—resulting in rapid integration of Lattice assets into Beach’s single SAP instance, de-duplicated and cleansed master data, and a successful end-to-end migration delivered by Prospecta.
