Leading Automotive Parts Manufacturing Firm, a global supplier of aluminum components with more than 22,000 employees and operations in 38 facilities, faced the urgent challenge of standardizing its material master data ahead of a new global procurement system roll-out. The company needed to rationalize and govern roughly 200,000 parts across multiple countries and 11 languages and to put in place a repeatable process to prevent duplicates and enforce consistent part definitions. Prospecta delivered a Spare Part Governance Process based on UNSPSC standards via MDO, including duplicate checking, an approval workflow to enrich attributes, multilingual material cataloging, and geographic localization. As a result, Prospecta enabled standardization of ~200,000 parts across 11 languages, improved sourcing and procurement performance, reduced duplicate inventory, shortened processing times, and facilitated consistent spare-part sharing across all plants—delivering measurable benefits in inventory optimization and operational efficiency.
