Medela, a leading manufacturer of breastpumps and medical supplies, faced growing logistics and regulatory challenges as volume increased: their custom, ERP‑tied shipping software was unreliable, required frequent maintenance, and could slow or halt shipping operations, risking compliance with FDA recordkeeping. To address this, Medela selected the ProShip system as a stand‑alone, centrally managed shipping platform.

ProShip tied together shipping components, eliminated direct carrier server interfaces, and managed carrier transactions and distribution records to maintain compliance; the solution—installed and supported by ProShip/SPSI—delivered timely software updates with “little to no down time,” a responsive help desk, and later supported a 2012 e‑commerce expansion (including ProShip Velocity rate‑shopping, UPS SurePost and Mail Innovations).
