PerkinElmer, a global life‑sciences company that ships reagents—more than half radioactive—was facing a high‑stakes logistics challenge: moving roughly 500 packages a day from Boston (plus other sites) on time despite short radioactive half‑lives, complex hazardous‑materials paperwork, and a company‑wide migration to SAP. To avoid delays, mis‑deliveries and regulatory penalties, PerkinElmer turned to ProShip, an SAP‑certified, enterprise shipping solution that needed to support carrier compliance with FedEx and TNT and automate the packing‑slip, label and dangerous‑goods documentation for each box.

ProShip implemented a native SAP‑integrated shipping system with carrier manifesting and customized code to match PerkinElmer’s processes, plus a barcoding application that scans orders and item/lot codes to eliminate human error.
