A ProQuest Case Study
University of La Verne needed a better way to support students and faculty as it moved from card catalogs and paper interlibrary loan requests toward electronic resources. With more than 8,000 students, including working doctoral students studying evenings and weekends, the library needed ongoing access to research materials that could be reached from off campus.
The university purchased ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Database, including full text from day one, to give students 24/7 access to dissertations and theses, keyword searching, full-text PDF downloads, abstracts, and selected 24-page previews. ProQuest also provided digital copies of University of La Verne’s own dissertations, and the database has been used heavily by doctoral and master’s students ever since, helping make research faster and more effective.
