Implementing the Virtual User Experience

University of Nevada, Reno’s Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center wanted to improve discovery across print and electronic holdings, support a virtual and mobile user experience, and avoid overburdening staff with record conversion. The library also needed a simpler way for students to find articles and databases without requiring instruction.

To meet those goals, University of Nevada, Reno implemented ProQuest’s Summon service along with 360 MARC Updates, supported by 360 Core and 360 Link. The library said the approach improved discoverability, freed staff resources, and aligned with its long-term vision, while making record updates manageable through regular monthly updates.
