Dartmouth College - Customer Case Study

Dartmouth College used ProQuest’s Video Preservation and Discovery Service to address thousands of videotapes documenting several decades of campus life. The college needed a cost-effective way to deal with obsolete physical media and improve discoverability for historic lectures, speeches, and other recordings.

ProQuest provided an all-inclusive preservation service with digital conversion, transcription, metadata creation, and optional hosting and streaming. Dartmouth said the project helped it preserve content from magnetic format, handle large-scale digitization, and move the work forward after refining the details with ProQuest through the first official batch.
