Inter Cars, a leading importer and distributor of automotive spare parts in Central and Eastern Europe with over 450 branches and about $1.5B in annual revenue, faced slow, error-prone budgeting and reporting driven by manual Excel allocation and consolidation processes. Those limitations reduced analytical capability and hampered timely, informed decision-making across the business.

After evaluating several solutions, Inter Cars implemented Prophix for its simple allocation rules and ease of use. The deployment (seven models, 95 users) automated about 100 allocation processes, consolidated financials for 35 subsidiaries (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and notes), and enabled CTA calculations and ad hoc profitability analyses by product, segment and vendor. The result was faster, more accurate financials, improved profitability insight for manager motivation and supplier negotiations, and freed resources for forward-looking planning with plans to expand profitability and budgeting capabilities.
