Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is a leading international nonprofit that uses science, economics and law to tackle environmental challenges. Operating across multiple countries with four legal entities and transactions in several currencies, EDF struggled to compile and consolidate financial source data, relying on manual budgeting, forecasting and reporting that limited personnel planning and profitability analysis.

EDF implemented Prophix’s Corporate Performance Management solution, integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Workday and Salesforce, to automate budgeting, forecasting and reporting and enable drill-across to invoices and donor data. The finance team saved hours on data entry and budget preparation, can now forecast personnel costs monthly, import donor information for revenue projections, run project planning models, and gain better operational insight into program actuals and forecasts — with plans to expand dashboards and grant-budget tracking.
