Engineering a Healthy Finance Function at Aeglea BioTherapeutics

Aeglea BioTherapeutics, a biotechnology company developing enzyme‑based therapies for cancer and rare genetic diseases, needed a more agile finance function to respond to a fast‑changing market and evolving strategic plans as it prepared to grow and go public. With no internal IT staff and complex clinical trial cost data to manage, the Office of Finance required a cloud CPM solution that would let executives and managers update forecasts and budgets on the go.

Aeglea implemented Prophix in the cloud and integrated it with their NetSuite ERP to automate budgeting, forecasting and reporting. The rollout sharply reduced the time to consolidate budgets, produce personnel projections, run project and trial expense reports, and finalize cash adjustments and approvals, while enabling quarterly budget updates, flux analysis and better clinical trial cost tracking. Aeglea plans to extend Prophix Workflow and further automate the NetSuite connection to broaden adoption across the company.
