The Benevolent Society, Australia’s oldest charity with around 900 employees and US$84M in annual revenue, struggled with a slow, manual budgeting process that took weeks and hundreds of staff hours to consolidate roughly 190 individual budgets. Finance also lacked wage transparency tied to profit-and-loss reporting and needed a solution that would integrate with their payroll and Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP without heavy IT dependence.

Working with Prophix (via partner Forest Grove Technology), the charity automated budgeting, forecasting and consolidation, cutting budget delivery time by more than half and removing spreadsheet inconsistencies. Prophix’s Detailed Planning Manager improved personnel and fixed-asset planning (including depreciation and cost‑center validation), enabled drill-across month‑end reporting to the ERP, and gave managers clearer P&L impact visibility—helping identify inefficiencies and lower costs going forward.
