F & W Transportation, an Augusta, Georgia–based carrier with roughly 100 employees and a fleet that includes 80 power units, 150 dry vans and 65 specialized trailers, faced operational headaches from multiple disconnected spreadsheets and standalone applications that caused double entry and inefficient dispatching and billing. After an eight-month search, F & W selected Prophesy Dispatch from Prophesy Transportation Solutions (with QuickBooks integration) to consolidate dispatch, accounting and back-office functions.

Prophesy Transportation Solutions implemented Prophesy Dispatch with a ten-user license and optional modules (EDI, fleet maintenance, fuel tax, fuel card importing, driver management, Internet load posting and brokerage), later upgrading the database to SQL. The integrated system eliminated spreadsheets and much manual work, automated EDI and billing, reduced billing headcount from three to one, improved accounts receivable days from about 75 to 35, and helped F & W grow its fleet (from ~35–40 trucks in 2004 to 80 in 2010), with further vehicle-tracking integration and fleet additions planned.
