How SLA Engaged New Members & Re-engaged Lapsed Members

Special Libraries Association (SLA), an organization serving information professionals, wanted a better way to engage both new and lapsed members and learn what mattered most to them. To do that, SLA used PropFuel’s contextual engagement platform and Ask-Capture-Act process to move beyond standard membership emails and capture member voice in real time.

With PropFuel, SLA sent targeted questions to new members and lapsed members, then followed up with relevant benefit information and renewal prompts based on each response. The campaigns generated a 31% response rate from nearly 700 new members, actively engaged 284 members with relevant content, and identified 174 lapsed members as strong renewal candidates from nearly 4,500 lapsed records—creating potential renewal revenue in the tens of thousands at a $220 membership rate.
