Owl Cameras, maker of the Owl Car Cam, was scaling quickly and struggling to manage a complex, phone‑like hardware product using spreadsheets, shared Dropbox folders and Jira. With roughly 20–30 people working on the product and extensive coordination with contract manufacturers, the team needed a single, scalable PLM that could handle ECOs, BOMs, custom fields and formal change approvals—so they implemented Propel’s modern cloud Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform built on Salesforce.

Propel uploaded Owl’s existing Excel data, provided an intuitive UI and supplier portal, and enabled rapid onboarding—engineers learned on the job and the contract manufacturer required only a one‑hour training. Since going live with Propel, Owl now manages BOMs, part numbers, SKUs, ECOs and training records in a single system, improved collaboration with vendors who can download BOMs and participate in ECOs, and has a centralized “single source of truth” that supports faster scaling and future CAD and channel integrations.
