We implemented in 2.5 weeks, start to finish

The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) faced a critical challenge when the COVID-19 pandemic suddenly shut down campus, cutting off student and faculty access to the physical computer labs essential for running memory-intensive applications. With many students using less powerful devices like Chromebooks, the university needed a rapid solution to support its curriculum in chemical engineering, geography, and other data-heavy courses without diminishing the learning experience.

Propeller implemented its cloud-based Virtual Desktop solution, which provided students with remote access to high-powered computing environments on any device. The deployment was completed in just 2.5 weeks, allowing courses to continue without interruption after the shutdown. The Propeller solution eliminated the need for a physical lab, offered scalable and cost-effective operations tailored to class schedules, and ensured students could work from anywhere.
