Orthopedic Sports Facility Builds The Bones Of A Successful Geofencing Campaign

Orthopedic Sports Medicine Service Provider, a six-location clinic accustomed to TV, billboard and referral marketing, wanted to test geofencing and understand how it could drive patient visits and be measured. They engaged Propellant Media to explore geofencing and related digital creative (video and static ads) and to deploy conversion zone technology to track real-world results.

Propellant Media geofenced competitor clinics, home improvement centers (Lowes, Home Depot) and sports facilities, then used conversion zone tracking to measure who saw or clicked ads and later visited a clinic. In two weeks the campaign delivered 140,000 impressions, a 0.20% CTR and 281 website clicks, and attributed 72 new/repeat on-site visits; foot-traffic among people who saw ads rose from 0.71% to 1.95% (a 163% lift). Propellant Media’s results convinced the client to extend geofencing for an additional eight months.
