Convenience Store Franchise Gets Quick Jump In Foot Traffic With Geofencing

Northeast Convenience Store, a convenience store chain with more than 50 locations, was struggling to cost‑effectively reach people driving off the interstate near one of its stores and to boost weak local brand recognition. After traditional and social channels fell short, the customer engaged Propellant Media to explore geofencing marketing as a more targeted solution.

Propellant Media implemented tightly controlled geofences around exit ramps, nearby competitors and other local stops, added site retargeting, and placed a conversion zone at the client’s store to measure visits. Over a 12‑day campaign the Propellant Media program drove more than 660 visitors (at an average value of $15 per visit) and produced a 101% increase in foot traffic from the geofenced areas; the client is now planning to roll the program out to its other 40+ locations.
