Whispir Keeps Internal and Customer Communications Data Secure With Proofpoint

Whispir is a global, cloud-based omnichannel communications platform handling over two billion interactions a year. As the company scaled across multiple countries, its security team faced rising phishing and business email compromise (BEC) attacks—particularly targeting executives—and needed to strengthen domain reputation and protect customers while keeping pace with rapid growth.

Whispir deployed Proofpoint Email Protection plus Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), Threat Response Auto-Pull (TRAP) and Email Fraud Defense (EFD) to detect, quarantine and prevent spoofing. The platform blocked more than 1.2 million email threats (about 30% of inbound traffic), stopped nearly 460 advanced targeted attacks, flagged 45,000 content-based threats including impostors, enabled DMARC reject across most sending domains, and automated removal of delivered malicious emails—substantially reducing BEC incidents and improving customer trust.
