Proofpoint Helps Largest Nordic Building Association OBOS Construct Superior Email Security

OBOS, the largest Nordic cooperative building association with over 415,000 members, faced rising email threats as it grew and migrated to Microsoft Office 365. Its on‑premises security missed fraudulent emails, credential‑phishing campaigns, ransomware and targeted attacks on executives, and lacked the visibility needed to investigate and report on incidents.

Working with managed‑services partner mnemonic, OBOS ran a Proofpoint proof‑of‑concept and deployed Proofpoint Enterprise Protection, Targeted Attack Protection (TAP) and Threat Response Auto‑Pull (TRAP). The POC uncovered more than 130 targeted attacks in 1,281 malicious messages that had bypassed the prior defense; since deployment OBOS has blocked fraud, credential phishing and ransomware, gained real‑time forensics and campaign intelligence, and can automatically remove malicious messages and report protections to leadership.
