Blocket AB, Sweden’s largest online classifieds site with over 5 million weekly visitors and 99% brand awareness, faced rising email fraud that damaged customer trust and drove up customer‑service costs. Awareness campaigns weren’t enough, so the customer security team needed a proactive way to detect and stop phishing before it reached users.
Working with CSC, Blocket deployed Proofpoint Email Fraud Defense and implemented a DMARC “reject” policy after gaining visibility into all mail streams. Within three months it stopped domain spoofing and other lookalike attacks, achieved a 99% drop in suspicious incoming messages and a 70% reduction in phishing‑related customer service tickets.
