Pacific Life, a 150+-year-old insurance and financial services firm serving individuals, businesses and many large U.S. companies, needed to modernize its compliance program as it moved operations to the cloud. Its legacy compliance system offered limited search, produced many false positives, left searches permanently recorded, and relied on manual processes that strained a five-person team tasked with supervising 1,300 employees under FINRA/SEC rules.

Pacific Life implemented Proofpoint Intelligent Supervision and Proofpoint Enterprise Archive to automate retention and supervision, enable near real-time, rules-based searches, and apply role-based policies. The solution reduced false positives, streamlined reviews and workflows, archived millions of communications (24.8M in 2020 with 232K flagged), and reduced administration to roughly one full-time equivalent—freeing staff and supporting the company’s digital transformation.
