H‑E‑B Grocery Store, LP, a privately held supermarket chain with more than 350 stores across Texas and northern Mexico, was operating a hybrid Office 365 and on‑premises Exchange environment. That mix made granular control of spam and bulk mail difficult—legitimate messages were misclassified and stuck in quarantine, targeted attacks had limited visibility, and IT support saw higher ticket volumes.

H‑E‑B deployed the Proofpoint Security and Compliance Suite for Office 365 (including Proofpoint Email Protection and Targeted Attack Protection) in about 90 minutes. The solution gave fast, centralized visibility and control over message delivery (tracing messages in seconds instead of days), reduced false positives and unwanted spam, and added advanced threat defenses—virtual sandboxing, predictive URL/attachment analysis and big‑data analytics—improving security and lowering operational impact.
