Fraudulent and CEO‑spoofed messages undermined trust in supply‑chain communications and made it unclear whether emails claiming to be from Bilfinger were genuine.
Bilfinger deployed Proofpoint Email Fraud Defense with Proofpoint Managed Services to authenticate inbound and outbound mail and implement a DMARC reject policy, supported by a dedicated consultant who identified all legitimate senders (including third‑party dispatch services). The project delivered full visibility into email flows, stopped domain spoofing, restored trust in emails across the supply chain, protected the Bilfinger brand, and enabled consolidation of external providers.
