University of Richmond Keeps Sensitive Cloud Data Safe and Secure With Proofpoint

The University of Richmond, a top-25 liberal arts campus of about 6,000 students, faculty and staff, faced escalating email and cloud-data risks — including roughly five million email threats a month — and needed to strengthen defenses against phishing, ransomware and protect sensitive financial and healthcare information while consolidating security visibility for its IT team.

The university deployed Proofpoint Cloud App Security Broker, Enterprise Protection, Targeted Attack Protection and Threat Response Auto-Pull to secure cloud apps and email. The integrated solution improved DLP and visibility across Microsoft, Google and Box, reduced cloud data-loss risk, quarantined and rapidly removed malicious messages, and gave IT centralized reporting, faster incident response and more efficient threat hunting.
