The Co-op How we made the grade growth

The Co-op, a large Australian provider of educational resources with 42 campus stores and 1.5 million members, was running a 20-year-old home‑grown IT setup split across three disparate systems for customer/stock, POS and accounts. That caused delayed information, manual POS work and limited ability to analyse transactions. To modernise its operations, The Co-op chose Pronto Software and its Pronto Xi suite to replace the legacy systems.

Pronto Software implemented a customised Pronto Xi solution (Financials, Distribution, POS, EDI, CRM and more), integrating transactions into a real‑time general ledger, automating POS promotions and improving inventory visibility and financial reporting. The change made troubleshooting and margin analysis much easier and boosted staff productivity—on average freeing up one staff member per store—while positioning The Co-op for future growth.
