Russian Design Bureau, a Russian manufacturer of navigation modules, needed an automotive navigation device that could work with both GPS and GLONASS, support GSM/GPRS/3G communication, and provide traffic updates for better route planning. They turned to Promwad for product development, including industrial design, hardware, PCB, and software implementation.

Promwad delivered a compact Android-based navigator with a 5-inch 800x480 touchscreen, AM3517 processor, built-in GPS/GLONASS receiver, SIM5215E 2G/3G modem, battery support, and audio functions. The company also developed the enclosure, 8-layer PCB, and software stack from bootloader to Android 2.2, resulting in a durable 16 mm-thick device capable of navigation, voice calls, messaging, and real-time data transmission over mobile networks.
