Parrot builds a shock-resistant Bluetooth sensor gateway in 24h with Promwad

Promwad was commissioned by Parrot, an international technology company based in France, to develop a compact network device for collecting data from Bluetooth sensors and transmitting it to a server. The challenge was to create a dedicated gateway for Parrot's Flower Power plant sensors that was robust, compact, and ready for certification and mass production.

The solution from Promwad included full-cycle design: a hardware platform based on a TI Sitara Cortex-A8, software using Linux and Bluez, and a durable enclosure. They manufactured prototypes which successfully passed pre-certification tests for safety and emissions. The resulting device featured embedded Wi-Fi, BLE support, power via micro USB, and a notable impact resistance, surviving drops onto concrete from a one-meter height.
